Can I play sport after an Osteopathic treatment?
We would ask you, unless specifically approved by the Osteopath, to desist from sporting activities while you are under our care, for at least 48 hours after your treatment.

How long is the treatment for Osteopathy?
Initial treatment for Osteopathy takes 1hr & 15 minutes. You will first need to fill in a form about your condition. This is followed by a 25 minute remedial massage from a qualified massage therapist and after your muscles are relaxed, the osteopath will manipulate your bones (much like cracking your knuckles, but on the spine and joints).

What is the initial cost for Osteopathy?
Initial treatment = $129.00
Subsequent treatments = $99.00 (treatment is 45 minutes, 25 minute remedial massage followed by a manipulation of the spine)

Do I need to bring in an X-Ray or CT scan when I see the Osteopath or Chiropractor?
An X-Ray or CT scan is not required prior to seeing an osteopath or chiropractor. However if you have an X- Ray or a CT scan from the past, we would like you to bring this to the appointment.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?
There is no need for a referral from your doctor.

Do you do bulk billings?
No, we do not do bulk bill. However ask your doctor about the EPC program, where you can get part-payment of your treatment by MEDICARE if approved by your GP. We also provide HICAPS facilities for privately insured patients, who are only required to pay the gap payment.

Do you do workers compensation?
No, we do not do workers compensation paper work. However, you are welcome to come for treatment and pay for your consultation, and we will organise the paperwork i.e. Receipts, via the company that will cover your treatment.

Where is parking?
Bruce Street is meter parking for 1 hour at $2.10
2 hours free parking behind Woolworths (council car park) on Alexander street in Crows Nest. For the council car park, take the upper ramp. The clinic is a 5 minute walk as you come out of the council car park. Turn right as you come onto Alexander Street, cross over Falcon street and walk up to Pacific Highway. Look up and we are above Café Belle on the corner or Pacific Highway and Bruce Street. You will see a red-and-white dentist sign out front, and walk through the door and up 2 flights of stairs, top of stairs turn right.
1 hour and 2 hour free parking on Sinclair Street which is perpendicular to Bruce Street and parallel to Pacific Highway.

Which is the closest train station?
Depending of which direction you are travelling. Crows Nest Clinic is on the highway equidistant between St Leonard station and North Sydney Station.

Can I claim for the osteopathy treatment on the day of my appointment?
Yes, you can claim on the day of your treatment, as we have a HICAPS machine. You will need to bring in your health fund card to swipe your card. You get back an average of $25.00 to $30.00 off your treatment however it does depend on your health cover. You are required to pay the difference on the day of treatment.

How is Osteopathy different to Chiropractic treatment?
Chiropractic focuses mainly on the skeletal system.
Osteopathy focuses on both the soft tissue (muscles) and every bone in your body. The main difference is the massage you receive before the spinal manipulation with Osteopathy, and the use of soft-tissue techniques.
